Land
to Grow On
The
J.C. Lennon family has generously donated more than five acres of
land on Warrior Road in Whiteville to Lower Cape Fear Hospice &
LifeCareCenter for the capital campaign to build a hospice care
center. It will serve patients and families from Columbus, Bladen,
Brunswick, Pender, and Robeson counties. Call 800.772.1476 for information.
Building a Foundation
Lower
Cape Fear Hospice & LifeCareCenter has created an official fund-raising
and donor stewardship arm, the Lower Cape Fear Hospice Foundation.
Its board of trustees will work with the board of directors and
the development staff to ensure the agency's financial needs are
met.

Community
Supports Festival of Trees and Love Light Trees
Visitors
to the 23rd Annual Festival of Trees
enjoyed one hundred ten trees, celebrity reindeer, Festival gala,
holiday boutique shopping, dipping for diamonds, children's crafts,
visits with Santa, patient photographic journey, and hospice memorial
trees. Throughout
the five counties we serve, eight Love Light Tree
illumination ceremonies were held honoring and memorializing loved
ones. We extend our sincere gratitude to everyone who supported
these events.

Celebration
of Life Mural II Dedicates First Tiles
More than 300 people gathered at a ceremony to dedicate the first
108 tiles placed on our second Celebration of Life tile wall at
the Hospice Care Center. Tile gifts are a permanent, visible way
to honor or memorialize loved ones and serve as a way to support
hospice care in our community. Jan's Garden and the Julie Godley
Memorial Bench were also dedicated.
Building
A Dream Capital Campaign
We
have reached the halfway milestone in our capital campaign to build
a hospice care center in Whiteville by raising more than $1 million!
The "Building A Dream" capital campaign is currently in
the "silent" phase, securing leadership gifts and applying
for grants. Events to launch the public portion of the campaign
are being planned for late spring 2006.
